Her husband, a native of Cashmere, has deep roots in the community, and together they have raised a son. Their family is completed by two playful dogs and three mischievous cats, which Brittany adores. When she's not working, Brittany loves to indulge in her passions, which include reading, sipping wine, exploring the great outdoors, and having a good time with friends and family. Prior to the pandemic, Brittany worked at the museum, where she shared her love of history and culture with visitors. After a brief hiatus, she has happily returned to the museum, drawn back by its warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Maggie McManus

Maggie first heard of Cashmere when she was operating a fish farm at an orphanage in southern Mexico in 1984. She met Scott, a Cashmere native and her future husband, when he was in Mexico visiting the men who worked in his family’s Cashmere pear orchard up Mission Creek.

Fast forward to 1988, when Maggie stopped by for tea at Scott’s place and never left. With her background in wildlife and natural history, as well as 30-years as a WA State certified teacher, Maggie has been actively involved in field-based science programs throughout the Wenatchee Valley since 1990. She is a strong believer in creating opportunities for people to learn about the history and habitat of the place they call home.

Maggie and Scott have two adult children, Elly and Rob; both kids had their first driving lesson at age 13 in the family’s only 4-wheeler, a 1946 Willys Jeep. Maggie enjoys maps, history, geography and exploring the outdoors, preferably on foot.

Jan Meredith-Evans

Jan grew up in Cashmere and has lived most of her life here. She received a degree in Sociology from UW and after living elsewhere for about ten years, she and Ric moved back to Cashmere to raise their two children here. She has focused much of her working life toward the good of the community, starting with Probation Officer, Adoption Counselor, Secretary at Cashmere Medical Center and Vale Elementary, and owning a yarn shop, where community “happened” every day.

She is curious, has a passion for history, our environment, volunteering, hiking, camping, gardening, walking her dog, cats, traveling, and pickleball.

She finds inspiration and strength every day by glancing at the iconic Mt. Cashmere while crossing the railroad tracks, and is grateful to live in a vibrant, friendly and beautiful community.
